Bathrooms that feel like the best hotel you ever stayed in
Bathroom remodeling in Nashville and Middle Tennessee — primary bath retreats, curbless walk-in showers, freestanding tubs, powder rooms and full layout changes, permitted and built by one team.
A bathroom is the smallest room with the most trades in it: plumbing, electrical, tile, glass, cabinetry, ventilation, lighting and paint all in a hundred square feet. That is exactly why it goes wrong when it is handled piecemeal. We manage the whole sequence — rough-in, waterproofing, inspection, tile, glass, fixtures — so the shower does not leak in year three and the vanity lights line up with the mirrors.
How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Nashville?
A hall or guest bath remodeled in place typically runs $18,000 to $35,000 in the Nashville area. A primary bath with a new layout, a large tiled walk-in shower, a freestanding tub, custom vanity and stone most often lands between $45,000 and $85,000, and can go higher with heated floors, steam and premium tile. Tile, plumbing fixtures and glass are the three line items that move the number most.
“The structure feels sturdy, seamless, and perfectly integrated into the rest of our home.”
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Three to five weeks for a bathroom remodeled in its existing footprint; five to eight weeks when walls, plumbing or windows move. Tile and glass are the pacing items — the shower has to be waterproofed, inspected and tiled before glass can be measured, and custom glass takes a week or two to fabricate.
Do I need a permit for a bathroom remodel?
Moving plumbing, adding circuits or changing walls requires a permit and inspections in Metro Nashville and every county we work in; swapping fixtures in place generally does not. We handle permitting for every job that needs it and schedule the rough-in and final inspections around the crew so nothing sits idle.
Can I stay in the house during the remodel?
Almost always. We isolate the work area with dust barriers, keep a second bathroom working, and clean the site every evening. If the house has only one bathroom we sequence the job so a working toilet and shower are out of commission for the shortest possible stretch.

Bathroom Remodeling: the questions people ask

Can you convert a bathtub to a walk-in shower?
Yes, and it is one of our most common bathroom projects: the tub comes out, the drain is relocated, the walls are waterproofed and tiled, and a curbless or low-curb shower with a glass panel goes in. It usually takes two to three weeks.
Do I need a general contractor for a bathroom remodel?
For anything beyond swapping a faucet, yes. A bathroom involves plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile, glass and cabinetry that have to happen in the right order and pass inspection; a licensed general contractor is responsible for all of it under one contract and one warranty.
What tile is best for a shower?
Porcelain for durability and low maintenance, with a textured or small-format tile on the floor for slip resistance. Natural marble is beautiful and needs sealing; large-format porcelain slabs give the marble look with fewer grout lines. The waterproofing behind the tile matters more than the tile itself.
Can you add a bathroom where there is none?
Yes. Bathroom additions inside the existing footprint — under stairs, in a large closet, off a primary bedroom — or as a bump-out addition are both common. Plumbing access and venting decide the best location; we look at that first.
How do you keep a new shower from leaking?
A sheet or liquid waterproofing membrane over the entire wet area, a properly sloped pan tied into the drain, a flood test before tile, and inspection before it is covered. Most shower leaks come from skipped waterproofing, which is why ours is never skipped.
